[Dspam-user] DSPAM group notworking

Manel Gimeno Zaragozá
Hello,

I've made a new installation of dspam in my system but now groups are not working.  I've installed dspam from centos packages:

# rpm -qa | grep dspam
dspam-libs-3.10.2-2.el6.x86_64
dspam-client-3.10.2-2.el6.x86_64
dspam-devel-3.10.2-2.el6.x86_64
dspam-3.10.2-2.el6.x86_64
dspam-mysql-3.10.2-2.el6.x86_64

# cat /etc/dspam.conf | grep group
GroupConfig /var/lib/dspam/group

# cat /var/lib/dspam/group
domaingrp001:shared,managed:*@pre.domain.es

and the folder/file perms

# ls -la /var/lib/dspam/
total 32
drwxrwx---  6 dspam mail 4096 May 29 13:42 .
drwxr-xr-x 27 root  root 4096 May 29 12:46 ..
drwxrwx---  3 dspam mail 4096 May 29 13:42 data
-rw-rw-r--  1 dspam mail   44 May 29 13:33 group
drwxrwx---  2 dspam root 4096 Oct  8  2012 opt-in
drwxrwx---  2 dspam root 4096 Oct  8  2012 opt-out
-rw-rw----  1 dspam mail  480 May 29 13:56 system.log
drwxr-xr-x  2 root  root 4096 May 29 12:46 txt

When I send an email to [hidden email] dspam process it but it does not update the stats as a group, just as a user:

# dspam_stats -H
[hidden email]:
                TP True Positives:                     0
                TN True Negatives:                     2
                FP False Positives:                    0
                FN False Negatives:                    0
                SC Spam Corpusfed:                     0
                NC Nonspam Corpusfed:                  0
                TL Training Left:                   2498
                SHR Spam Hit Rate                100.00%
                HSR Ham Strike Rate:               0.00%
                PPV Positive predictive value:   100.00%
                OCA Overall Accuracy:            100.00%

any help?

Thanks!

Manel

Hello Manel,

I'm the package maintainer for Fedora and CentOS. I don't use groups
in my setup so if something in the package is the cause of this failure
I'll be watching this thread for any changes needed to the package
itself. Even so if you find something wrong with the package please file
a bug against it on the redhat bugzilla, or email me directly so I don't
miss it.

Re: [Dspam-user] DSPAM group notworking

Manel Gimeno Zaragozá
Hello,

Nathanael, thanks for your response but I think there is no problem with package.

I've been testing different group configuration and it looks like it was my mistake.

I had configured in /var/lib/dspam/group the following:

datadecgrp001:shared,managed:*@pre.ddol.es

but I've changed it to

datadecgrp001:shared:*@pre.ddol.es

and now it works as expected.

Anyway, I though it was possible to have a "shared, managed" group, as documentation mention, but it not works for my conf.

Should I need a different conf to use "shared, managed" group?

Please correct me if I have something wrong in my conf.

Thanks & Regards.
Manel

Re: [Dspam-user] DSPAM group notworking

Manel Gimeno Zaragozá
Hello,

Sorry to retake this old post, but I'm still having problems with groups in dspam.

The new packages installed in centos 6 are:

dspam-libs-3.10.2-4.el6.x86_64
dspam-mysql-3.10.2-4.el6.x86_64
dspam-devel-3.10.2-4.el6.x86_64
dspam-web-3.10.2-4.el6.x86_64
dspam-3.10.2-4.el6.x86_64
dspam-client-3.10.2-4.el6.x86_64

and my group conf file is:

# cat /var/lib/dspam/group
dom4grp001:shared,managed:*@dom4.ddol.es

But it's not working, it user from domain "dom4.ddol.es" has his own dpsam stats,

In older versions it was working, but now looks like the "*@dom4.ddol.es" is not working.

any help about how to configure it?

Thanks.

Manel

Hi,

your old mesage states that you had 'shared' working, but
'shared, managed' didn't work. Could you supply us with a debug output
of a message handled by the 'shared, managed' setup?

Re: [Dspam-user] DSPAM group notworking

Manel Gimeno Zaragozá
Hello,

This is really weird!! Yesterday I was tring to configure dspam and groups were not working. Then I've changed TrainingMode option to "notrain" to made some tests and it was still not working, but I when I came back to "tum" TrainingMode, groups start to work, and now they are working correctly. I've try to add new groups and are working perfectly.

I really don't understant how!

This is my group file

cat /var/lib/dspam/group
  dom4grp001:shared,managed:*@dom4.ddol.es
  dom1grp001:shared,managed:*@dom1.ddol.es

dspam_stats
  dom1grp001
    TP:  2408 TN:  5558 FP:     0 FN:     2 SC:     0 NC:     0
  dom4grp001
    TP:  2254 TN:  5536 FP:    22 FN:   150 SC:     0 NC:     0

Regarding debug mode, I've read I need to compile dspam to enable it, is it really necessary? should I obtain debug log without compile dspam?

Thanks & Regards.

Manel

Re: [Dspam-user] DSPAM group notworking

Tom Hendrikx

Hi,

if it works, it works;)

Regarding the debug output: if you still want to try that, maybe your
distro has a dspam-debug package or something like that? I'm not sure
how that works in rpm country...

Re: [Dspam-user] DSPAM group notworking

Manel Gimeno Zaragozá
Hello,

yes it works! but the problem is that I don't know why. In fact, I'm not sure if I will be able to reproduce it in a new installation.

I will try it in a test machine, just to be sure which steps are needed.

On the other hand, I've configured "Debug *" in dspam.conf and I've found this rpm dspam-debuginfo-3.10.2-4.el6.x86_64.rpm but It looks like it's not working as no dspam-debug log is created, any help?

Thanks for your support!

Manel

I'm the dspam maintainer for Fedora/EPEL. There is a dspam-debuginfo
package however that will just be adding back to the binary information
that is useful for using a debugger (function names, source file and
lines etc). Enabling the debug compile flag probably adds additional
code not needed in a production environment I presume? If so we'll have
to leave it disabled though I can add to the spec file so that building
it with debug is possible locally via mock so that you can be sure
everything else is the same.
